THEATRE - The Lion King - Disney's “Der König der Löwen” GERMAN AUDITIONS (apply by 20th Aug)

CASTING

For the cast change 2019 of the German musical production

Disney's “Der König der Löwen” in Hamburg we are looking for 1st Cast and Ensemble with and without Covers:

 

- MUFASA (LION)

Excellent singer and actor, Bass/Baritone (mid 30's late 40's). Mufasa is the king of the

African Pridelands. Regal, omnipotent and powerful, also a warm and loving father.

 

- SIMBA (LION)

Leading actor/singer with strong pop/rock voice, baritone/tenor, 18-25 years old, good

mover, with charm and strength.

 

- NALA (AFRICAN LIONESS)

Leading actress/singer (18-25) with a strong pop/rock voice, alto/belt and with charm and

strength. The African Lioness Nala is strong an confident.

 

- RAFIKI (BABOON)

A soulful, comedic, spirited African female shaman. Character actress with excellent rich

unique belt style voice (alto/soprano) and ability to move well.

 

- SHENZI (female), BANZAI, ED (male) - (HYENAS)

Shenzi & Banzia, Ed.All three of them have to be good rock

singers with distinctive character voices. Funny maniacal hyenas, 20's to early 40's,

street wise and urban. Must move very well.

 

For the characters named above ethnicity is key to the casting.

FOR OUR ENSEMBLE:

- EXCELLENT FEMALE AND MALE SINGERS WITH STRONG POP-ROCK VOICES IN ALL RANGES

African, Afro American, Asian, Latin American or South European origin or background.

 

- FEMALE AND MALE DANCERS WITH A MODERN OR CONTEMPORARY BACKGROUND

Singing and acrobatic abilities are an advantage. African, Afro American, Asian, Latin American or South European origin or background.

 

AUDITIONS in Hamburg as of Middle of September 2018

Rehearsals start: January 2019/ contract approx. 1 year
