Stand By Theatre Company | East Midlands
We focus on unearthing hidden stories and creating theatre that can heal, recover and unite, offering a voice and a platform to those who are not always heard.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for:
- a female performer who is comfortable/has experience with movement or physical theatre.
We are interested in hearing from performers with a playing age between 20-35 who also have the ability to portray a more mature mother character. This position is open to all but we encourage applications from performers based in the East Midlands (auditions and rehearsals will be taking place in Lincoln).
‘The Room at the Top of the House’ follows the story of Josh who is suffering with agoraphobia and panic disorder. As a result, he shuts himself away in the attic, only seeing the outside world through his sister’s postcards. A mix of physical theatre and poetic dialogue express what's going on in Josh’s mind. Content is based on true accounts and has been developed alongside health care professionals. The piece had a full Edinburgh Fringe run in 2017 and is now about to embark on an 11-date tour, taking place July 2018 - March 2019 (the dates are quite sporadic).

FEE: £100 for performance days, £90 for rehearsal days and £30 for travel days.
