Theatre-Rites is developing an exciting new immersive production for an international Festival in 2021. Directed by Sue Buckmaster, we will be collaborating with choreographer Gregory Maqoma and designer Ingrid Hu.

Our creative team and performers will be exploring how culture and the customs and habits of different childhood homelands affect our sense of who we are, and our relationship with the spaces we inhabit and the world around us. We will be starting our first development phase in July 2019.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Highly skilled contemporary dancers

  • Highly skilled physical theatre performers

  • Highly skilled musicians (we are particularly interested in vocalists and percussionists)

    We will be holding 2-hour workshop auditions every day from Sat 20th to Tues 23rd July. In order to apply you MUST

  • Have been born in and spent at least 7 years of your early childhood in a non-European, non-North American country.

  • Be currently living in the UK or have permission to work in the UKIf you would like to audition then please provide us with:

  • a CV

  • a covering note highlighting where you spent your childhood

  • a link to a short clip of you performing (if available)

  • your availability during 20th to 23rd July

- D/deaf and DISABLED PHYSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS, DANCERS AND MUSICIANS

In order to apply you MUST

  • Be interested in reflecting on your own experience as a child with a disability

  • Be experienced in physical theatre/dance OR be a skilled musician (we are particularly

    interested in singers and percussionists)

  • Be currently living in the UK or have permission to work in the UK

    We will be holding 2-hour workshop auditions every day from Sat 20th to Tues 23rd July. If you would like to audition, please provide us with:

  • a CV

  • a link to a short clip of you performing (if available)

  • your availability during 20th to 23rd July

  • info on any access requirements*

    *our audition space is fully accessible. Please get in touch if you would like to be sent this document in large print.
