CASTING - WATERPERRY OPERA FESTIVAL - The Magic Flute and The Fairy Queen. 


Waterperry Opera Festival is launching its second season in July 2019 and is casting performers for productions of:  Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. 
Artists will need to be available for rehearsals in London from the beginning of July through to performances on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th July 2019.
The festival is held at Waterperry House & Gardens in Oxfordshire, a site that has a rich history of community and creativity. The festival has been developed to create collaborative work that is socially relevant, of high quality and which bridges the gap between performer and spectator.
All artists will live on site from 22nd July 2019 for the duration of the festival.

Waterperry Opera Festival is looking for versatile and diverse artists to apply.

The Magic Flute
For this production we are looking to cast all principal roles. We are also looking to offer combined contracts consisting of a small role and chorus. (Small roles include: Monostatos, Papagena, Speaker, 1st/2nd Priest, 1st/2nd Armed Man.) When applying, please state the role for which you would like to apply; if applying for multiple roles please state these in order of preference. This production will be sung in English.

The Fairy Queen
For this production we will look to assemble a company of performers with a wide range of skills and experience. As such, we welcome applications from classical singers particularly those with strong movement skills, and from actors or stage performers with classical singing experience. Additional skills, such as circus or puppetry are very welcome. In the audition there may be the possibility of presenting other skills as well as singing, if appropriate. We welcome applications from all voice types, including countertenors.
